Weekly Blog Guidelines

Guidelines for your weekly blogs!

Each week, you need to post a blog entry on your DP that includes the following elements:

Min. 150 words with at least one image that represents your progress. It must address the past, present and future of the project! See "BLOG FORMAT" below.
IMAGES: USE THEM!
1. Take photos of your own work and upload them
2. If using google images, make sure to use the search filter “free to use or share”

NOTE: LATE BLOG ENTRIES DO NOT GET CREDIT! They are due every Wednesday by the end of class.

BLOG FORMAT

Part 1: Discuss what has happened during the past week. What have you accomplished? What has gone wrong? What challenges have you faced? What have you learned through the process? How have your skills improved over the past week?
Part 2: Assess your overall progress: Are you on track for on-time delivery? What adjustments need to be made to your timeline?
Part 3: What are your goals for the next week? What specific action items do you need to accomplish?

This is NOT: “My next action will be to figure out how to procrastinate less”
This IS: “My next action is to sketch five drawings of how the concert stage should be arranged” OR “My next action is to write 2,000 more words of my novel, whether I like the result or not.” OR “My next action is to find three people who might be users of my software, deliver my elevator pitch to them, and ask for feedback.”

AFTER YOU POST THE BLOG

Once you post your blog, you need to copy and paste the text of the blog itself into this google form.

Creating Your Blog: Guidelines for Students

Please follow these guidelines to CREATE your blog!

Step 1: Go to your DP

Step 2: Create a new BLOG page titled "20% Project" and organize it so that it is a drop-down tab under "Humanities".

Step 3: Create your first blog entry welcoming people to your blog. Follow these instructions:

Include a personalized welcome to your audience!
Include a brief description of what your 20% project is (this can be copied and pasted from your project proposal)
Include a photo/image to represent your project idea

Step 4: SHARE your blog!
