Starter: Ancestral Puebloan Culture/History

At your tables, elect one note-taker!
Write down everything you know or have learned this year about Ancestral Puebloans (time periods, different groups, where and how they lived, what they hunted, what types of tools they used)

Exploring Ancestral Puebloan Artifacts!

We're going to scope out the artifacts that Crow Canyon Archaeological Center sent us!

Step 1: In your table groups, look through the materials you receive

Choose 3-4 artifacts that stand out to you.
Take a guess on the following:

When (like what year(s)) were they from?
What were their function or purpose?
How were they made or produced?
What is a question you have about them?

Step 2: Read through the handout I give your group and....

Identify correctly the artifacts you have with the handout descriptions
Choose 2 artifacts to present to the class and share what you learned about it!
Elect a spokesperson (or 2) to come up and present!

STARTER: Self-assessment

Read through the self-assessment with an eye to making sure you understand what each category on the rubric means. Write down any questions you have. Keep the hardcopy, but feel free to complete it electronically in google classroom. Self-assessment is due THURSDAY by the end of class.
Then, on the notecard, write your NAME and then your work time goals for each day this week, including homework.

EXAMPLE:
Monday:

Write 2 pages and make sure to work on "showing v telling"
Homework: write 1 more page

Tuesday:

Work on my 20% project action items (LIST THESE)
Homework: Keep working on 20% action items

Wednesday: NO CLASS

Homework: Work on my 20% project goals

Thursday:

In class: Write the last page of my story and complete the self-assessment and TURN THAT INTO ASHLEY.
Homework: Finish my conclusion make sure I'm showing my theme clearly in my conclusion. Double check to make sure I've formatted the story correctly

Friday: Rough draft due start of class- we might have some time to refine/add onto it in class, but not a ton as we have gear check AND Humanities candidates' guest teaching that day as well.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

DOOR DASH policy change: Drivers should not go in the east building and if a delivery happens during class time, we are more than happy to hold it at the front desk until a student has permission from a teacher to come get the food. Students should only be eating in class if teachers give permission and everyone should absolutely like you have the ability to not let students eat in class if/when it's a distraction.
Exit Ticket Surey: Reminder! I entered grades into IC from yesterday already. If you're absent, you're exempt that day.

Turn that starter document in WITH YOUR NAME ON IT :)

With a partner, choose ONE of the sentences you revised for the starter on page 3 and share that with your partner.
